Montana YMCA Youth and Government

Appointed Officials

Appointed Officials are critical to the success of the Montana YMCA Youth and Government Program. There are many positions available, some filled by student application, and others assigned to delegations on a rotating basis. Materials announcing application procedures and positions assigned to each delegation are released in January of each year.

Some offices are filled by APPLICATION. Individual students who want the office must apply directly to the State Office.

Some offices are filled by ALLOCATION. Each local group is assigned an office to fill with a responsible person from within their delegation.

Not every club will get an allocated office every year, but eventually all clubs will be assigned all offices. Each club decides who gets their delegation's allocated position and sets their own selection criteria: some clubs vote on who gets the position, other clubs have their advisor appoint the position, others create an objective selection process and have a committee select the best qualified applicant.
