Mission Statement:

To create, and preserve, a sense of place throughout Gallatin County by integrating a multifunctional, sustainable transportation system into our communities, neighborhoods and county.
This site is a place where informed dialog can lead to a community driven, purposeful, and carefully-crafted transportation plan. We welcome your comments, ideas and opinions.

It is also a resource designed to inform and keep residents up-to-date on projects planned for our communities. We hope to present new ideas and new solutions that will make our transportation system safer, more convenient and more efficient. We will post updates from local advisory boards and groups, so you can see what they are up to, and see how you can help.

Dan Burden Presentation
Tuesday, 7:30 - 9:00 PM
Hager Auditorium,
Museum of the Rockies

What makes a livable Community? Dan Burden, a nationally-recognized planner, will address this question and many others regarding growth and long-term planning. Dan introduces and explains cutting-edge design principles, as well as offering insights and examples of community development. This is an entertaining program that will leave you inspired, and will leave you with the question; How can I make my community more livable?

Historic building; Size=240 pixels wide

Previous generations knew how to create a sense of place. Placing pathways (and attractive landscaping) in front of homes or buildings, rather than behind them, creates an inviting, and safe environment for pedestrian activity. A concept that savvy business owners and developers can apply to their own properties.
